What's yours called?

Yesterday afternoon, Luke and I were sitting on our doorstep watching the world go by. As Luke bounced himself vigorously on his "bouncy" chair holding his banana toy with all his might, I sat contented reading a cooking magazine. Suddenly, out of thin air I heard a fire truck approaching our way with its deafening sirens ringing fiercely. I stood up, took a couple of steps toward the footpath and looked at the direction that they were heading expecting to see smoke and flames. Unanticipatedly, a man walking his little 8 year old black chihuahua said " we called them because there is a small fire at Buena Vista park, but I think it's been put out by other passers by...you know maybe people camping at the park caused it...trying to get warm"...before I could say anything he said "this is cookie...here give her a treat and she will be your best friend forever!"...he extended his thin shaky hand and handed me a doggie treat...How could I refuse as I'm interested in expanding my social network?! I took it, cookie jumped up drooling for it and ate it passionately..."cute dog" I said as I observed cookie eating her treat....the thin man suddenly asked "what's yours called?" as if Luke were also a dog. Surprised I responded, "Luke". He then said "he's cute too", I nodded in agreement...."I have no treats for him...sorry" I replied, to what he said "that's o.k."...I smiled and asked his name "Pilaf"..."nice to meet you, I'm Ana"..."nice to meet you too" he said a little agitated, evidence that he prefered to talk about cookie and not himself. I turned back to my pet and waved goodbye to cookie and Pilaf. As I sat back down on our doorstep, I turned my gaze to the house across road and noticed the setting sun's glow upon the home..."funny little man" I thought.

Bob!

Yesterday afternoon, Luke and I headed to our local hardware store only to be greeted by two friendly assistants. The young woman had long dark hair with bright blue highlights which was gathered in a pony tail, she wore dark framed glasses and had a light coat of somewhat bluish lipstick. The man around his early 60's had a name tag which spelled the name Bob - Bob had a big belly, ruddy complexion, blue eyes and not much hair. The young woman said hello to both Luke and I and was commenting at how cute he was...she asked...what's name? I looked over at the balding man, smiled and said "Bob". The young woman's blue lips stretched from ear to ear, she smacked Bob on his arm and screeched "!and he looks just like you... he even has your belly!"...Bob half smiled as I continued on my way in search of plastic gloves.

Today, I took Luke for another walk. We happened to walk across the street from the hardware store. I was talking to Luke looking down at his face, I suddenly heard someone say "hello Bob"!...as I looked up I saw the
big bellied, ruddy complexioned, blue eyed, balding man with a huge grin on his face.

Bon Apettit!!

20th November 2008 11:30am...first try of rice cereal - his thoughts? - the photo says it all...dessert? - sweet potato - rather be sucking than eating....get me off this chair fast!

Mama? - so proud of her little man, kept his first dirty bib as a memento of the big event. I do not think he was overwhelmed by the experience. Used a silver spoon...think we will invest in a more suitable type like a tiny plastic spoon. Isn't his dirty bib sweet?

Try two happened at 5:30pm of the same day. He only had a teaspoon of sweet potato and he did not mind it as much...he quickly got bored though and wanted to get off his little chair.

Turning around is so Fun!

November 19th @ 2am our baby Luke TURNED all by himself! How we found out you ask? We woke up at his little baby scream, ran to check on him, only to find him lying on his back (he usually sleeps on his belly) on the right hand corner of his crib with his cute wide eyes open and a little smile on his face. Mama and daddy are so proud of our little baby!
